As you grow wiser, you learn that silence is often more powerful than arguing..

London

I logged off work not long ago, but I’m still sitting at my desk. Browsing, reading, trying to figure out what to do next. My thoughts keep racing, my heart restless.

“Oh restless heart, what do you chase,                                                                                   In fragile dreams that leave no trace?                                                                                The roads you walk with burning drive,                                                                             Now leave you lost, where hopes don’t thrive.

Away, away, all worldly pain,                                                                                                     I cannot bear this endless strain.                                                                                        Let wisdom sleep, let troubles cease,                                                                                     And bring me quiet, lasting peace!”

The day started early. I’d gone to bed late last night and didn’t sleep well. Despite that, I got to the gym around 7:20 AM and had a good workout—pull-ups to warm up, then dumbbell lateral raises, front raises, and bicep curls. A quick shower after, and I was straight to work. It was a busy day.

With Christmas around the corner, the office feels empty. Everyone’s away on holiday, and I’m here wrapping up tasks. Lunch was chicken salad, with snacks here and there throughout the day. I took a break to pick up the keys to a new flat, navigating the crowded tube to Finchley Central and back. The afternoon slipped by at my desk until 6:30 PM.

Dinner was simple—just pasta. I called my mom afterward. She’s recovering from her second round of chemo. I’m grateful my sister’s there to help, but it makes me think—what would it take for me to be there for my parents too?

Still, there were things to be grateful for today:

  • Grateful for sitting comfortably on my bed after work.

  • Grateful for the convenience of a washing machine.

  • Grateful for finding this new place in Holborn.

Around the world today –

  • Russia Signals Openness to Peace Talks with Ukraine: During a four-hour Q&A session at the Kremlin, Russia a desire for “lasting peace” with Ukraine and indicated readiness for negotiations.

  • Potential Israel-Hamas Ceasefire: Israel is reportedly close to a ceasefire agreement with Hamas following significant military victories in the region. This development suggests a more peaceful outlook for 2025, as Israel continues to assert dominance over regional militant groups.

  • UN Urges Re-engagement on Iran Nuclear Deal: The United Nations has called for parties to re-engage in discussions concerning the Iran nuclear deal, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic efforts in maintaining international peace and security.

Tomorrow is another chance. What would it take to wake up fully aligned with my goals, productive, and ready to make the most of the day? I’ll figure it out.
