“Part of me wants to watch, while another part says no, but I got sucked in for a while, and now I’m too scared to even go pee.

Normally, I can’t stand when my flatmate’s around, but tonight I’m hoping he gets home soon. It’s just some silly horror clips on Instagram, yet here I am. So much time wasted scrolling… How do I get it back? Time lost never returns.

I woke up early, hitting the snooze button several times and skipping the gym. As I lay there, I found myself not wanting to get out of bed, thinking, “I don’t want to work. I don’t want to go to the office. I just don’t want to work at all.” All I wanted was to have control over my own time, free from the feeling of being accountable to anyone. Yet, despite these thoughts, I have to admit my job is great. The people are friendly and easygoing, always cracking jokes, and making sure everyone feels comfortable.

Still lying in bed, I pushed my hands to the floor and knocked out 11 push-ups before finally getting up. The sun was shining bright and warm, streaming onto my desk and chair where I usually work from home or spend most of my time. I moved away from the bed, sat at the desk, and meditated on 35 affirmations, the sunlight hitting my face directly. I hoped those rays would be enough to wake me up for good.

I took a shower, prayed two rak’ahs of Salah-tu-Fajr, followed by two rak’ahs of Salah-tu-Hajath. After breakfast—a milkshake—I dressed in a crisp white shirt and sky-blue trousers, then left home for work. With Bloomberg Radio’s business live on, I walked through Piccadilly and St. James’s Park. The day was serene, truly breathtaking.

I hadn’t noticed the rain, but the ground was damp, the sun’s rays gently evaporating the moisture over the park’s grass. Surrounded by birds and ducks, with the mist rising, it felt like nature was alive—beautiful, beautiful, beautiful day.

I arrived at work at 8:55 AM, and people were still settling in. I couldn’t help but think that even if I had gone to the gym in the morning, I would have arrived at the same time. And if I skipped the gym to get to work earlier, it would still be the same. It made me wonder why it’s so hard to reset my body’s internal clock—how do you train yourself to actually wake up earlier when you intend to? I need to figure out how to make that shift, so I can get there earlier, not just the same time as usual.

The day unfolded smoothly, packed with meetings. One from 10 to 11, followed by another from 11:15 to 12:45, and then a third from 13:00 to 14:00. Afterward, I took a lunch break from 14:00 to 15:00. The remainder of the afternoon, from 15:00 to 17:00, was spent at my desk, reading and catching up on emails.

I walked home the same route, with the sun still shining, though this time it was setting, casting that beautiful golden hour glow over everything. It felt like one of those perfect evenings. I stopped to snap a few selfies and photos of the ducks near the Horse Guards Parade. Once home, I took the stairs up to the 7th floor, resisting the temptation to go out or meet up with friends. Instead, I opted for a quick nap, which ended up stretching into a solid 30 minutes.

Later, around 7:30 PM, I headed out for a walk around Piccadilly Square. Afterwards, I stopped by the supermarket to pick up some groceries and then went straight home to cook a meal of achar and rice. As I enjoyed my dinner, I relaxed and watched the sunset. While I was lost in thought about my brother, I received a text from him. Moments later, he called on video with my nephew. Dan was on the bus returning to his university, while little Hamd, who’s only one year old, was watching his favourite cartoon with my brother. It’s adorable how Hamd laughs at the same part of the cartoon every day. We all had a good laugh over his sweet and predictable reactions.

Around 15:30 texted Thahera Aunty, it was her brithday today – Happy Birthday dear loving Aunty. May you have all the happiness in the planet.. she texted back, Allhumma Aameen.. May God bless you too with all the happiness that there ever is.

What would it take for me and for you to also have our part of happiness in life, filled with healthy, gratitude, friends, laughter, money, wealthy, house, travel, happiness, care, love, affection? and negative patterns in mind blocking all the above to come quickly please get erased!
