Itโs not that life is short but that we waste a lot of it!

The day hadnโt gone as planned. By the time I logged off work, my back achedโpayback for not sitting up straight at my desk all day. Now, Iโm lying in bed, typing out these thoughts, grateful that tomorrow is Saturday. No alarms, no deadlines. Iโll let the day unfold and take me wherever it wants.
The morning began at 7:30, another routine start. Most of the day was spent at the desk, immersed in work. I even made it to Jumma Salah in the afternoon, a brief but peaceful break from the screens. By 16:30 PM, I was still working, but a long 45-minute conversation with my mom brought a sense of comfort. It reminded me of what matters most.
Later, I allowed myself a small indulgence: a nap. After a week of nonstop work, it felt well-earned. In the evening, I caught up with one of my best mates, a conversation that felt like a deep breath after a long day.
Dinner was simple – pasta with chicken, spinach, and tomatoes. I ate while rewatching The Matrix. Itโs a movie Iโve revisited many times, yet I still find myself grappling with its meaning. Tonight, I saw pieces of myself in itโsomeone who spends hours at a laptop, searching for answers, following signs, and longing for clarity.
By 8:45, I had a heartfelt chat with my brother, wrapping up the day with connection and warmth, and we laughed.ย
3 things I feel grateful for today end of the day:
-
Grateful for attending Jumma Salah with the Jamath.
-
Grateful ate well and healthy today.
-
Grateful I had meaningful conversations with loved ones, mum brother and a friend..
Around the world today –
-
A renewed call was made for discussions on the Iran nuclear deal, emphasizing diplomacy’s critical role in fostering global peace and security. (https://dppa.un.org/)
-
Concerns were raised about the potential for escalating conflicts beyond current war zones, highlighting risks to international stability.
-
Reports indicate a decline in peace levels across several regions, with a focus on the need for strengthened peacebuilding efforts worldwide.
But as the day ends, a question remains: what would it take to wake up tomorrow feeling truly happy? Confident, healthy, energetic, and aligned with our goals? everything to be okay with family, friends and everyone around, then have a relaxing, relaxing, relaxing yet productive day tomorrow?
For now, though, itโs time to rest. Tomorrow holds its possibilities.
