What new habit do you want to form ?

London
I’m writing this down before I get distracted. It’s the most important thing I must do today, something I’ll remember for a long time. To write something before going to bed.
I need to learn to quiet my anxiety whenever I’m faced with something that seems complex. It’s important to build the habit of staying calm instead of overreacting. We should commit to resisting that urge to get overwhelmed and stay focused instead.
My mouth felt dry, just had a big glass of water, please drink a lot of water, my dear sister was also reminded by my dear mother to drink more water, I was telling a mate yesterday evening to drink water because he was acting dry (Ha!)
The day had gone well today, wfh.. Slept well, but had been up since 04:30 I could think of on and off dozing, but overall slept well last night, good night’s sleep.. God so grateful!
In bed checked the phone, on whatsapp maternal extended family group with all cousins, Gulistan-e-Dastigir group, there was an article in the newspaper there about grandpa leaving the planet over the weekend… It was nice to see he was praised in the city he was from.
Left home late and wondered where I lost time in the morning, left home at 08:25 for the gym, 3 min walk, pure gym Piccadilly – did upper, 4 sets of 11 reps of pull-ups, 24 Kgs Dumbbell shoulder press, incline bench same sets, reps and weights too. I wish I had managed time to do shoulder lateral raises, I feel like I need them to do right now.
After a refreshing shower, I felt good on my way back home. I noticed, as usual, a line of people standing by the theater. I think they might be apprentices, helping out for the day, but I’m curious—why do they stand there? I see them almost every day. I often leave home around 6:30, and they’re already there. I come back from my workout to get ready for work, and they’re still waiting, even at 10 to 9 when I leave. Is it out of necessity or passion?
I chatted to brother while working for a bit, work day went well, morning did some invoices and afternoon, some writing, attended one meeting didn’t have to talk, the Sun was coming into the window and on my face then, I didnt want to get off my desk, had to stare at the screen and forehead was squinting but still I’d prefer Sun on my face.. broke for lunch around 13:00 ate some snack and I shall eat after the run later otherwise I’ll feel full.
A friend who was in the area going to the shopping popped in for a bit, around 16:00 ddn’t stay long, and had a big mouth some, I hope he;s cheered up now after the christmas shopping.
I logged off work around 5:45 p.m. and had been checking in on the camera my brother-in-law installed in our parents’ living room. He set it up so all of us siblings could see our parents from different countries. I texted Mom earlier to let her know I was watching, and around 6:10 p.m., I decided to take a quick nap. Then Mom called, and we had a brief catch-up. Everything was great—my sister was visiting, my brother was flying in the next morning, my little nephew was playing, and Dad was resting. It was nice to see everyone doing well. Later, I thanked my brother-in-law for setting up the camera.
Around 6:45 p.m., my sister called, asking if I’d join her for a chat. She’s been studying literature and wanted to share a lesson with me each day. I love catching up with her, so I agreed. We talked until 7:20 p.m., and then I got ready to go for a run. I felt a lot of anxiety when I left the house, wondering if I should even go out because it was getting pretty cold by then.
I decided to go for the run anyway to help calm my restless mind. I started from Piccadilly, passed by Horse Guards Parade, and ran toward Lambeth, circling around the COVID Memorial Wall. Then, I made my way back home, crossing Westminster Bridge and finishing the run through St. James’s Park.
I made a dinner of chicken, rice, and chickpeas, then ironed a white shirt for tomorrow’s meeting where I’ll be taking minutes. Sending a little love and good energy my way, hoping everything goes smoothly. Just checked the camera—Dad and my brother have headed out to the airport. Now it’s time for me to get some sleep, six hours behind them on this side of the world.
