“Every moment is a fresh beginning!”

Hyderabad

It feels like Thursday just passed, and now it’s back again so quickly. The days are flying by. I remember speaking to an elderly man, who once said, “Time passes so fast. I didn’t even realize it until I was in my late 50s. Where did it all go?”

Honestly, I get it now. Time moves quickly, and it’s ticking away. It’s like a reminder that one day it will run out. It makes me think—if there’s a place where time can’t find us, I’d love to know. Does such a place exist? If you find it, please tell me. I’ve been looking for a place where time doesn’t matter.

When I was a kid, time felt limitless. Summers lasted three whole months, and there was so much of it. My siblings and I would wake up, play around while brushing our teeth, and then have tea. Mom would make something delicious for breakfast – idli, dosa, chapati -something different every day. We’d play all morning without even thinking about the clock.

In the afternoons, we’d pray Zohr, then take long naps to escape the 50-degree heat. When we woke up, it was tea time again, followed by Asar prayers. And then—more playing!

Sometimes, the power would go out for hours. But instead of being annoyed, we’d sit outside under the stars. The elders would chat with neighbours, and we kids would sing, laugh, and play until the power came back. When it did, we’d rush to the TV to watch Alif Laila, a favourite show. Mom would bring dinner, and we’d eat together, laughing, teasing, and enjoying each other’s company. After dinner, we’d sit on the bed, talking about the day, and laughing until we finally fell asleep.

Looking back, those were the golden days. No worries about food, work, relationships, or responsibilities. Just pure, simple joy.

Now, as I sit here typing on my laptop, I think about those times. Dad asked me this morning to pick up some clothes from the tailor, and Mom brewed a cup of tea. These are today’s moments, but one day, I’ll look back on this and think, “Where did those days go?”

Life moves forward, and we can’t stop it. But maybe that’s the point—to appreciate the present moment. Every day, every second is worth cherishing. Be grateful for what you have right now.

Life is about moving on, and trusting that everything will fall into place. Patience and the right mindset can make all the difference. Change your mindset, and you’ll change your life.

Around the rest of the world today –

  • World War 3 – Russia Ukraine – Russian forces launched a drone and missile attack on Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, the strike destroyed an energy facility, causing significant power and heat outages in the city. (Reuters).

  • Despite a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, tensions remain high as preparations for returning displaced families in Gaza coincide with a fragile truce that has seen fatalities, including minors, from Israeli tank fire near Rafah.

  • Recent technological innovations include the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics in agriculture, where Australian farmers are utilizing sensors and AI to monitor livestock, enhancing efficiency and sustainability.

3 things I felt grateful for today

  • I’m grateful that Mom is feeling better today—she even got up and made us breakfast just two days after her fourth chemo session.

  • I’m thankful for Dad’s extra car that I can use whenever I visit them.

  • I’m so glad I have no plans for the rest of the day and can just go with the flow.

What would it take for me and for you to wake up early tomorrow and have some sort of workout, then finish all tasks in the first half of the day, have everything to be okay with family, friends and everyone around, and then have a relaxing, relaxing, relaxing yet another productive day tomorrow?
