London

“Almost in bed, I lie down in bed, but then I hear these people still out screaming in the streets, downstairs, singing songs. All central London is full of rallies and demonstrations, with slogans. All eyes on Rafahโ€ฆ When I was walking back to our desk after lunch with my boss, there was this huge crowd with flags, and God knows what they were shouting. I said to my boss, โ€˜A bunch of voice champions!โ€™ and we had a huge laugh. Guys, how on earth do you have that much time?

I woke up early and worked on an application for an internal position at work. There were about four questions that needed answering: three were for 500 words, and one was for 250 words. The time spent on that felt like doing a dissertation for uni finals. Each time I submit an application, I wonder why I didnโ€™t save those examples. When I went back and checked the document where Iโ€™ve been saving examples for applications, they werenโ€™t an exact match. Then I thought of the examples and put them on paper.

I logged in to work early around 7:30 AM, sat at my desk, and worked on the application. I submitted it at 10 AM, then had a shower, wore a white shirt and sky-blue trousers, and left for work. The sun was out, bright, warm, and mild outside. A lot of people were already out.

Last night, I read a few extra pages from Bill Brysonโ€™s book โ€œInto the Woodsโ€ to finish it off. I gave the book and a handkerchief as a souvenir to a friend whose last day at work was today. I attended a call from 12 to 1 PM, then went for lunch with a friend next door and had a long chat. Afterwards, I attended another call from 2 to 2:30 PM, and then the rest of the afternoon, I worked on audits.

I logged off around 4:50 PM, and biked back home through St. James Park. The weather was bright, beautiful, and warm. When I got home, I chatted with a mate on WhatsApp about how the day was going. At 5:20 PM, I took a 15-minute nap to an alarm, woke up at 5:50 PM, got ready (wore shorts and a T-shirt), and went to the gym. The Spin class was booked from 6:15 to 7 PM sharp, and I had a really, really, really good workout. On my way back home, I saw a lady sitting downstairs by the Prince of Wales Theatre on Oxendon Street. She was drunk and puking. I was on a call with a mate, so I went back upstairs, filled a bottle with water, went downstairs, and gave it to her. I offered to call an ambulance, but she said her husband was on his way to get her. I opened the lid and let her drink the water. Bless her for having a husband to count on, and bless him too.

Later, my dear brother (Bhaia) called. We had a long catch-up from 7:24 to 8:45 PM. While we spoke, my little nephew Hamd was playing. He had his milk dinner and fell asleep on his gran (my dear mother). I said, โ€˜Bhaia, kitta sakoon hoga na, mummy ko pakad ke so gaye to usko.โ€™ It must be very comforting for him to hug mom and sleep. We spoke for a while, catching up on things. I made dal, and roti was already there. I ate while watching โ€œHeera Mandi.โ€ Then I had a long call with a mate, discussing his tantrums for tonight. We spoke until 11 PM while both of us had headphones on and tidied up the flat. Finally, I tried to go to bed, and I heard these noisesโ€ฆ

Around the world today:

  • Israeli tanks have reached the center of Rafahย โ€” a sign the military could be nearing its goal of taking full control of the southern Gazan city. (Silly Israel please for God’s sake STOP!)

  • The first head-to-head election debate between Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer will take place next Tuesday, 4th June. The General elections is called in for 4th July.

  • Mexicoโ€™s election this year, The country is headed for its largest-ever voteย on Sunday, with 20,367 posts on the ballot, including the president, Mexico Cityโ€™s mayor, eight governorships and 628 congressional seats, and numerous local positions.

Three things I felt grateful for today:

1. The application I had been working on for days was submitted on time. I felt very grateful.

2. I was grateful for getting to work late around 11 AM, and nobody said anything. Flexible work is a happy work.

3. I had a long catch-up with the family and felt so grateful.

What would it take for me and for you to wake up 10 times bigger, thicker, more energetic, confident, happy, rich, humble, loving, and compassionate? make it work out in the morning, start work on time and then have a relaxing, relaxing, relaxing, yet productive day tomorrow all negative patterns, please get removed..

Goodnight good luck!
