🌈 1268 – Friday, 6 December 2024 23:53
I woke up early today, feeling refreshed after a deep, peaceful sleep, like I’d been cradled in the comforting embrace of an angel, or more accurately, i.e., my incredibly cosy bed!
Yet, for the past few days, nights have been filled with twisting, turning, and strange dreams. I can’t help but wonder what they mean. What is my subconscious mind trying to tell? Are these dreams a message, a reflection, or just fragments of my thoughts coming to life?
What Causes Dreams?
The purpose of dreaming is not fully understood, but it is believed to play roles such as processing emotions, consolidating memories, solving problems, or simulating real-life scenarios. Dreams can take many forms, including anxiety dreams, lucid dreams, wish-fulfilment dreams, and nightmares.
Dreaming is often a sign of healthy sleep, but rarely experiencing dreams could indicate sleep deprivation. However, factors like difficulty recalling dreams might also be involved. If you have concerns, it’s best to consult a doctor.
It’s Friday, so glad the weekend is near! Sit at the edge of my bed, meditating for about seven minutes while repeating 35 affirmations. Feeling centred, I then headed out to the gym.
Cold, grey and wet outside with fog and mist in the air, no sign of the Sun until 08:20 am when I left, had a quick but really, really, really, really, really, yes 5 x really’s a good workout!
Did upper body, 5 sets of 11 reps of Pull-ups on the bar, then Dumbbell shoulder presses, Incline bench shoulder presses, lateral raises, front raises, hammer curls, then had a quick shower and headed back home to the desk.
Logged in work straight, Friday day of the days that is the most favourite day of the week when you look forward to it, and say Happy Friday, when the work day is finished.. stayed at the desk most of the day, finishing work, catch up on the whole weeks work, and tasks, had a quick catch up with father in the morning around 11 AM. at the desk.
Had a lot of work to finish during the day, mostly with invoices, purchase orders, some meetings and catching up with colleagues and friends on calls.
A dear friend, M, said goodbye for a month, letting me know he’d be busy wrapping up some unfinished work with other friends. He mentioned we wouldn’t get to spend time together for a while, which made me think of Shakespeare’s timeless words: “Parting is such sweet sorrow.” Still, I’m sure he’ll be back soon. We’ve grown into such close friends, and good friends always find ways to stay in touch!
Broke for 13:20 PM after a long work call and headed to the Masjid on Brewer Street in Soho for Jumma Salah. I was glad to catch the Jama’ah and join in for prayer. It felt fulfilling to complete Salah before heading straight back home to the desk. The rest of the afternoon went smoothly.Still at my desk at 5:30 PM when my brother in KSA texted to say he was catching up with our sister in HYD. I joked, “Include me too!” Soon, we had a long group chat, catching up about family. We all felt especially grateful that our dear mother is feeling better after her first round of chemo this week. After wrapping up some more work, I logged off and took a long nap until 7:45 PM.
Later, I made dinner and settled in front of the TV, where time seemed to fly. I ended up watching three movies back-to-back! Some scenes dragged a bit—like a 45-second shot of the sea—so I fast-forwarded through those. It was a relaxed and much-needed evening!
Now sat down to write and am grateful for the busy week that started BUSY!
Around the rest of the world today –
Syria – Rebel Syrian forces are closing in on Damascus and Homs, which could cut off the capital’s access to the Mediterranean.
Russia invading Ukraine – Amid uncertainty about future U.S. weapons supplies, Zelenskiy’s army is also grappling with increasing manpower challenges, as weary soldiers leave the battlefield. (Telegraph)
The US, Japan, and the Philippines conducted a new round of maritime cooperation in Manila’s exclusive economic zone after rising tensions with China in the South China Sea. (Bloomberg)
3 things I felt grateful for –
Grateful for having a long, overdue catch-up with my brother and sister today.
Grateful that Friday wrapped up smoothly, with all the week’s work and tasks completed.
Grateful for a plan-free weekend ahead—ready to follow my heart and see where it takes me!
What would it take for me and for you to wake up 10 x times motivated and aligned to our goals tomorrow? and wake up early, make it to have a good workout, everything to be okay with family, friends and everyone around, and then have a relaxing, relaxing, relaxing yet a productive day tomorrow?
