We go through the worst to get to the best

London

Today has been a busy one, running weekend errands and going in and out throughout the day. I started the morning with a swim at Marshall Street Leisure Centre, then caught up with family—chatted with my brother and sister and got to see my nephew on camera. I also reconnected with an old friend, sending along wishes and recovery blessings for his father, both from myself and you. I promised I’d visit him and his dad soon.

No matter how busy life gets, always make time to visit your best friend’s parents. Let them know their son or daughter is never alone, surrounded by friends who care and will always be there to look after them.

I also had a fitting today for an upcoming filming on Monday, which went smoothly. I’m feeling stuck after typing the above, unsure of what else to write, to be honest. There’s a strong temptation to go out, party, and let loose, but I’m trying to practice delayed gratification. Delayed gratification is the ability to resist the pull of immediate rewards in favor of something more valuable down the line. It’s a crucial aspect of self-control and discipline. Some say this ability strengthens with age, while others believe it depends on your worldview. For instance, if you don’t fully trust that a future reward will come, you’re more likely to take what’s available now.

Simply put, it’s Saturday night, the weather’s fantastic, and all of London is out—hanging around, partying, and enjoying the evening. But I’ve chosen to stay in and focus on explaining the value of delayed gratification. Instead of going out, I’m using this time to finish some work now so I can reach the goals I’m aiming for sooner. The payoff? I’ll gain independence over my time, hopefully achieve financial freedom, and be accountable only to myself—able to do whatever I want, whenever it suits me.

3 things that I felt grateful for today

  • I felt truly grateful when I arrived for my swim and found my padlock in my gym bag—it made my day!

  • I was also thankful when my brother called on video this morning, and I got to watch my little nephew Hamd playing—it was such a joyful moment.

  • And I’m feeling grateful now that I cleared my thoughts on paper tonight, something I thought I might end up procrastinating on.

What would it take for me and for you to wake up 10 x times more stronger, happier, healthier, energetic, make it to workout in the morning have a good workout, everything to be okay with family, friends and everyone around then have a relaxing, relaxing, relaxing, yet a productive day tomorrow?
