Don’t complain. Just rebuild your life!

London

One part of me was telling me to go to bed, but the cool breeze drifting through the window feels fresh and alive, almost inviting me to sit and do more work. Downstairs, I could hear voices – people speaking Arabic, laughing and chatting like the β€œnight is young.” I never thought I’d get to use that phrase but I did.. Mayfair tends to have a lot of Middle Eastern visitors, maybe some wealthy travellers exploring London. Whatever the case, it was nice to hear people out and about, even on a Tuesday.

The weather outside is chilled, not quite cold enough to be uncomfortable, but just enough to make you feel something might be brewing – maybe rain.

I woke up early today – around 6:34 AM – after a deep sleep. Strange dreams, but I slept well. Last night, I had gone to see a play called Stereophonic at the Duke of York’s Theatre near Trafalgar Square. It was an intense drama, but my mate was in a goofy mood and kept laughing at the serious bits. I had to tell him to quiet down. We couldn’t quite figure out what the rest of the audience found funny either. Sometimes life throws you into strange moments like that – you just have to find the humour in the chaos.

I hadn’t taken a jacket with me last night, and it got freezing by the end. Luckily, my friend had a spare one in his bag and ended up crashing at mine. In the morning, when he left, he told me the weather app said 18Β°C today, but it’ll feel more like 8. A few minutes later, I left for the gym at 7:10 AM, thankful I had put on on a jumper.

Had a really good workout, four sets of 12 pull-ups, shoulder presses on the machine, lateral raises, and some abs on my way out. Got back home, took a shower, and prayed two rakats of Fajr and another two of Salat al-Hajah. I ironed a white shirt, and a blue trousers and biked to work around 9 AM. Riding from Mayfair to Westminster was quick, but the traffic near Green Park and Piccadilly is a nightmare – buses, lorries everywhere. Sometimes I just want to block them all off.

The workday went smooth. Had a few meetings in the morning, then got lunch from Itsu on Victoria Street – some sushi. It was pretty busy outside. Back at my desk, I had a long chat with a mate in the afternoon. Felt good to talk. I should really take more time for things like that. Spent the rest of the day clearing invoices and left work around 17:30.

After a quick WhatsApp chat with mum, I got ready for a run. First, I did a loop around Green Park, then ran into Hyde Park, circling the big paths. Lots of joggers, and even a lane for people practising skiing, which was cool to see. I made my way around the Serpentine lake and paused on the bridge to watch a swan family float by. I stood still, wondering if they’d pass right beneath me. But just as they got close, they turned, like they knew not to trust a human watching from above. They minded their own business and kept going. It looked like they were headed home.

Ran back, had a Beef and Rorseradish sandwich in the fridge, ate that, still sitting, speaking to a mate on the phone – he’s been caught up in a lot of emotional drama lately. I feel for him. Life tests all of us in unexpected ways. We don’t really get to choose our experiences, the people around us, or the circumstances we’re placed in. It all seems to come from somewhere else – fate, the unknown, maybe the divine. I guess the only way out is through, and maybe that’s where we grow!

While the vegetables for my soup boiled, I sat at my desk for about 40 minutes. By the time I checked, they were already done, and the heat was off. I made the soup, drank it, and checked the family camera. My brother is sitting at his desk at home, and Mum was at the dining table eating dinner. Dad was already asleep. It felt comforting somehow – we were all doing our own thing, across different places, yet still connected.

Around the World today:

  • Israel and Hamas war – Today, the United Nations Security Council voted on a resolution calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

  • Russia-Ukraine war – Peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul have reached an impasse, with Russia demanding Ukraine’s surrender rather than a negotiated settlement. (Reuters)

  • Amazon has integrated advanced AI technologies into its delivery and logistics operations. This includes multifunctional robots capable of understanding natural language commands and generative AI tools that create detailed delivery maps, improving efficiency and sustainability in their services.

Three Things I Felt Grateful for Today:

  • Grateful I brought my jacket in this morning – it made lunchtime so much more comfortable.

  • Grateful for the rice I had with my sushi, I thought it would make me sleepy, but I stayed alert all afternoon.

  • Grateful when I saw the family cam – Mum eating dinner, brother working in the same room. I know she likes that one of us is around. It felt peaceful.

What would take for me and for you to wake up 10 x times bigger, thicker, more energetic, confident, happy, healthy, athelitic, grateful, wake up early, go to gym, have a good workout, start work on time, everything to be okay with family, friends, and everyone around, then have a relaxing, relaxing, relaxing, yet a productive day tomorrow?
